RELEASE

International Premiere Cannes Film Festival 2014

Storyline

Not far away from the ancient Malian city of Timbuktu, a town suffers

the regime of terror imposed by the jihadis, determined to control

them by their faith and religion. Music, laughter, cigarettes and even football have

been banned. Women have become shadows but resist with dignity.

Every day, court judgments set tragic and absurd verdicts. Kidane and his family have been

far from the chaos in Timbuktu. But his fate will change abruptly.
